Description
HO-scale 50-foot Pullman Standard box car in Burlington Northern service, a detailed model built for realistic HO layouts and dioramas of 1970s freight operations. This car reproduces a mid-1970s prototype with a single 10-foot Pullman Standard door and authentic detailing that helps it blend into scenes from that era.
Authentic features include separately applied grab irons, end ladders, and a brake wheel, a photo-etch crossover platform, machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, and body-mounted McHenry scale-knuckle couplers. The injection-molded body is finely painted and printed for realistic decoration, and the car is weighted for reliable rolling on standard HO track. It also features a minimum radius of 18 inches for smooth operation on typical HO curves and a Primed for Grime treatment, offering the look and feel of in-service equipment with base colors matched to the prototype and a ready-made starting point for weathering grime and rust. The design recalls the era when 50-foot PS box cars were common on North American rails, making it a historically grounded addition to any layout.
