HO Union Pacific SD60M Tri-Clops Locomotive with DCC and Sound is a high-detail HO-scale model designed to bring UP’s late red-sill era locomotives to life on a home layout. It recreates the distinctive Tri-Clops cab, front illuminated number boards, and front ditch lights, delivering a striking, prototypical silhouette. Four road-number-specific paint variations are offered, including a grime-ready version, with schemes reflecting faded colors and Lightning Stripe options on UP’s nose for numbers such as 2257, 2285, 2365, and 2367.
Under the shell sits a heavy die-cast frame and Genesis driveline for strong traction and quiet operation, along with LED lighting, a see-through cab interior, fine-scale Celcon handrails, and McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee-compatible). The model is DCC-ready with Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connector; sound-equipped versions feature an onboard DCC decoder with Tsunami2 sound and dual speakers, delivering engine, horn, and bell sounds in both DC and DCC modes.
