Description
HO SD60E Locomotive with DCC & Sound  Norfolk Southern 6986 is a highly detailed HO-scale model designed for realistic operation on modern layouts. It combines a DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound and dual speakers to reproduce engine, horn, and bell audio, with LED lighting and lit number boards that enhance realism whether running on DC or DCC.
Road-number 6986 features NS-specific details such as a 4,500-gallon fuel tank with rectangular walk‑way guards, plus a long-hood Nathan 5-chime horn, see-through cab windows, and finely modeled walkways. The model rides on a heavy die-cast frame with Timken-bearing HTC trucks, RP25 wheels, and McHenry scale knuckle couplers (Kadee compatible). It’s DCC‑ready with a Quick Plug 21‑pin interface for easy setup and NMRA CV‑based tuning, and is designed for HO layouts with a minimum radius of 18 inches (22 inches recommended) for smooth, quiet operation.
