HO Scale GP40-2L Locomotive with DCC and Sound in Guilford/MEC 510 is a detailed HO model designed to deliver authentic diesel power to your layout. It features an on-board DCC decoder and SoundTraxx Tsunami2 sound for engine, horn, and bell effects, with full DCC functions and compatibility for DC operation as well. Realistic lighting, lit number boards, and see-through cab detail help recreate the appearance of a GP40-2L in service.
Built for performance and long-lasting operation, it rides on a heavy die-cast frame with a Genesis-style driveline and a 5-pole skew-wound motor for smooth, quiet running. Scale detailing includes RP25 wheels, body-mounted knuckle couplers that are Kadee-compatible, see-through cab, etched fan grilles, fine handrails, and a detailed fuel tank; LED lighting adds realism, including lit number boards and class lights. The model is designed for minimum radii of 18 inches and uses Quick Plug 21-pin NEM connectors for easy DCC setup and CV tweaks. It also features Legendary Liveries with iconic paint schemes and a Primed for grime treatment that provides a ready starting point for weathering and creating an in-service look.
