Description
HO-scale Union Pacific Dash 9-44CW Locomotive, road number 9696, CNW-patched unit, is designed for model railroaders seeking authentic late-1990s UP power on an HO layout. This ready-to-run model reproduces the patching, logo placement, and distinctive features of UP’s merger-era fleet, including UP nose logos, a ghost CNW number, burn marks on the engine compartment, and a large snowplow for added character.
Prototypical detail and performance are matched by illuminated ground lights, front and rear walkway lights, etched see-through walkway steps, a full cab interior, and a heavy die-cast frame with a five-pole drive for smooth operation. The model is DCC-ready with Quick Plug 21-pin NEM and body-mounted scale knuckle couplers on RP25 wheels for reliable traction on HO track. Optional features include GPS dome, Leslie RS3L horn, and Tsunami2 sound with dual speakers for sound-equipped variants. Patch details include a ghost CNW number (8632) and a large snowplow, with UP logos on the nose and other period-specific detailing. Minimum radius is 18 inches (22 inches recommended). It ships fully assembled and ready to run on standard HO layouts.
