This HO-scale Surfliner Cab with Lights is a faithful, ready-to-run reproduction of Amtrak’s Surfliner cab car for HO model railroads. It comes fully assembled and includes an on-board DCC decoder by NCE and LED interior lighting, with lighting controllable in DCC and operation possible in analog (DC). A 21-pin NEM connector supports plug-and-play DCC systems. Painted in accurate Amtrak colors with licensed artwork, each car is individually named and numbered, and the cab-end carries era-specific antenna variations. Exterior details such as end hoses and HEP receptacles, along with tinted windows, enhance realism, while interior detailing echoes the car’s real-world finishes.
Designed for push-pull operation on HO layouts, this Surfliner cab car pairs with other Surfliner cars to recreate intercity service. It uses McHenry scale knuckle couplersâ€â€ÂKadee-compatibleâ€â€Âand RP25 wheel contours for reliable tracking on most HO track, with all-wheel electrical pickup for steady power. Inside, the model features color-accurate finishes for floors, walls, seats, and service areas, with interior details reflecting different Surfliner car types.
