Description
The HO GEN Trinity 5161 Covered Hopper is a meticulously crafted model that faithfully replicates the real STLX 6003/6022/6063 cars. Known for their efficiency in transporting agricultural products, dry chemicals, and sugar, this 3-bay covered hopper design has become a staple in railroading across North America since its introduction in the mid-1990s.
This model features a separate brake cylinder, valve, and air reservoir with realistic wire brake plumbing for added authenticity. Each end of the car includes coupler cut levers and air hoses, contributing to its detailed look. The photo-etched metal roofwalk and separately applied end cages and etched end platforms enhance the model’s visual appeal.
It boasts standard sized coupler draft gear boxes, and Body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers for fine operation. The Genesis 100-ton trucks come equipped with animated spinning roller bearing caps, while the 36†machined metal wheels ensure compatibility with all popular brands of track, providing a smooth and optimal performance. The hopper is weighted for stability during operation, with a minimum radius of 18†and a recommended radius of 22â€Â, making it a versatile addition to any model railroad setup.
