Description
HO Scale Old-Time 2-8-0 steam locomotive with DCC and sound in Union Pacific livery, road number 244. Fully assembled and ready to run, this model brings a classic heavy-freight engine to life on HO layouts with realistic decoration, lighting, and sound.
Built on a heavy die-cast frame with all-wheel drive, the model delivers strong pulling power and smooth, quiet operation. It features see-through cab windows, wire-form details, a smoke stack, and a boiler-mounted bell, plus bi-directional LED headlights that stay bright in either direction. The 5-pole motor with machined flywheels and a multi-link drive train provides reliable performance, while nickel-plated RP25 wheels ensure smooth tracking on most HO track. McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers offer authentic coupling action. The DCC-ready chassis accepts a decoder, and the sound-equipped version includes an onboard DCC decoder with SoundTraxx Ecomani sound, operating in both DC and DCC with full DCC functions and precise slow-speed control. It supports MU lashups with lead-unit control of horn, bell, and lights; CV changes are possible, with a CV chart included. The minimum curve radius is 18 inches, with 22 inches recommended for best operation. The 2-8-0 wheel arrangement was designed for heavy freight, delivering traction at low speeds.
