Description
An HO-scale Cupola Caboose, SLSF 1140, is a detailed end-of-train car designed to add authentic, late-era character to an HO model railroad. The cupola provides an elevated vantage point for observing the train, mirroring the real car’s role in monitoring for issues as the train moves.
Crafted with a highly detailed injection-molded body, it features a weight-balanced chassis for smooth running and includes fine end handrails and ladders, clear windows, and a separately applied smoke jack and brake wheel. The model rides on Barber or Bettendorf swing-motion caboose trucks and uses body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers, with machined metal wheels and RP25 contours that track well on most HO track. A 15-inch minimum radius keeps operation reliable on a variety of layouts and helps maintain prototypical appearances.
