Description
HO-scale 13,000-gallon Acid Tank Car ASTX 5013 is a detailed model that reproduces a prototype tanker used to haul corrosive liquids. This road-numbered car is designed for HO layouts, adding realism to yards, sidings, and mainline runs.
Two body profilesâ€â€early and late productionâ€â€along with prototype-appropriate top platforms provide historical accuracy, while etched metal walkways, separate wire grabs and handrails, and trucks with animated rotating bearing caps add fine-scale realism. The model uses body-mounted, McHenry scale double-shelf knuckle couplers for reliable operation, and its full underframe detail includes an air brake reservoir, control valve, and brake cylinder with plumbing and brake rod details, plus varied end sills, coupler lift bars, trainline hoses, brake hoses, and hardware. Many parts are separately applied to enhance depth. Machined metal wheels with RP25 contours run smoothly on most brands of track, and the minimum radius is 18 inches, making it friendly to common HO layouts. It arrives in multiple road numbers, with distinct numbers between singles and 3-packs.
