Description
HO-scale FMC smooth-side 60-foot double-door boxcar in VCY Ex-GVSR livery recreates a modern, versatile freight car built for a wide range of loads on today’s rail network. With smooth sides and two full-length eight-foot Youngstown doors, this model presents a realistic profile for both display and operating sessions on HO layouts.
Details include separately applied grab irons, end ladders, and a brake wheel, plus a photo-etch cross-over platform. The car rides on 100-ton roller bearing trucks and 36-inch machined metal wheels with RP25 contours, while body-mounted McHenry operating scale knuckle couplers and a weighted chassis deliver dependable handling and lifelike performance. A highly detailed injection-molded body is painted and printed for authentic decoration, and the model is equipped for a minimum 18-inch radius. Prototype context: 60-foot high-cube boxcars like these are a common sight on modern freight trains, designed to carry a wide variety of loadsâ€â€from auto parts to forest products.
